Introduction

To introduce the purpose of this blog, I pretty much need to introduce myself. I could start with my childhood; that through any number of factors of my upbringing, I found myself as a fully grown woman unwilling to take risks or move out of her comfort zone. I could divulge the painful but exciting journey of the past five years in developing personal and social tools to not only grow into a functioning member of society, but also to learn to be happy.

I could.

But none of that matters. The past really doesn't matter anymore.

What matters now is that I'm ready to quit dreaming about adventure. I'm ready to live it.

However, this blog will not focus on the actual adventures and the personal preparation towards those adventures that I will be embarking on. For that, you can check out my personal blog, Venture.

This blog, Be Adventurous, is devoted to an essential part to becoming an active outdoors man/woman... the gear.

Purchasing gear is fun, but as a beginner, can be overwhelming. Let's face it. This stuff ain't cheap and it sucks to buy $100 harness only to have the circulation cut off in your legs.

This is a beginner's guide to gear. The pros, the cons and how to find what's right for you. I hope you find it helpful.

*Many of the images in this blog will link to Amazon.com. This doesn't mean that Amazon is the best place to purchase the discussed gear... although sometimes, you can find some pretty sweet deals.*
